Times Argus: VT Kids Reading, Leading

The Times Argus covers the release of the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s report on the importance of early literacy: Early Warning: Why Reading by the End of Third Grade Matters.  The good news is that Vermont’s 4th graders rank third in the country in reading proficiency overall.  Despite this success, we struggle to raise proficiency among students from low-income families.  Read coverage of the report’s release by Dan Barlow of the Vermont Press Bureau here.
