Facts to Action: 2009 Conference Wrap-Up

Voices would like to thank all of you who attended Voices’ and Public Assets’  annual conference Facts to Action: Getting Control of Vermont’s Budget Future.  For those of you who missed it, videos of the opening plenary and panel presentations are available here through the Public Assets website.

The October 21st day-long conference brought together more than 110 attendees and about a dozen speakers and panelists, with two main goals: to help advocates, journalists, policymakers, and opinion leaders understand the state’s budget crisis; and to broaden a statewide coalition focused on maintaining needed public services now while promoting fiscal policies that will ensure a healthy Vermont economy in the future.

For more information, check out Public Assets’ conference wrap-up page, which includes links to conference details and materials, including a video of Paul Cillo’s presentation on the structural problems with Vermont’s budget.  There will be additional material on the site as it becomes available.
